FasTrak Fitness, is an Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) studio located on the Central Coast.

EMS is the fastest growing fitness technology in the world with over 5,000 studios, mostly in Europe, where the technology originated. While EMS and its benefits are now being widely recognised, it's not that new, as legendary film actor Bruce Lee was a strong exponent back in the 1970s. More recently other athletes such as Usain Bolt and Rafa Nadal have started to use the technology to improve their strength and agility .

But EMS is not just for super athletes its also useful for older generations and those with disabilities or injuries that may prevent them from using traditional gyms. The training intensity of EMS comes from gentle electrical stimulation, not heavy loads (such as weights/dumbells), so the training puts no additional strain on joints or ligaments.

Typically, when you train at the gym (or other similar exercise), you will only use between 40 - 70% of your strength potential. EMS improves how your muscles work together and increases the intensity of your muscle contractions, enabling your body to use up to 90% of its potential - achieving more, in a shorter time.

EMS promotes a high level of metabolic activity during and for many hours after a training session. The higher your metabolism, the better your body will burn fat and build lean muscle mass.

For women, EMS training has been proven to reduce the size of common problem areas, such as around the waist, hips and thighs. At the same time, it will firm up the chest and arms.

For men, EMS training reduces waist size, whilst developing the arm, chest, back and leg muscles.

EMS can be used for rehabilitation after strokes , for rehabilitation after injury and even in the treatment of diabetes. In cases involving specific disabilities or injuries we are able to design a program of exercises that can accelerate the healing or improve general mobility.
