It may be the death of a loved one, the loss of love, a relationship, of control, of a job, of status, mental capacity, mobility. It may involve the loss of a life we once had, loss of trust with a partner, a friend or a colleague. Perhaps you have lost your sense of direction, your sense of self or meaning. Perhaps you are grieving and experiencing anxiety or depression. You have lost your independence and a previous way of life because you are ageing or because you now have a family to look after and support. The reasons and combinations are endless.
